Population
By 2014 the provincial population is about
1.041.453 people of ethnic groups: Kinh, Chinese
and Khmer. With the population density of
685 people/km2, Vinh Long province is one of
provinces with the highest population density in
the Mekong River Delta.

Labor Force
The labor force at age of 15 and older is about
629,838 mostly young workers. In economic
sectors, there are about 615,212 people. The
percentage of technical expertise is 50.05%. In
2014, there were 28,648 new employment created.
In term of labor structure, there are 51.99% in
agriculture, forestry and fishery, 48.01% in others.
Health Care
There are about 2.360 doctors and nurses at
121 health facilities, of which 10 general hospitals
are equally located in the districts, towns and cities;
02 regional clinics and 109 health care centers in
communes, wards, reaching the rate of 21.5 beds/
10,000 people and 5.8 doctors /10,000 people.
Education - Training
There are 03 universities, 05 colleges, 01
vocational schools, 16 vocational training centers
and 02 centers of employment consultancy for
enrollment, joint training with some schools in the
region, supplying more than 26,000 workers from
short-term training courses, at the beginner to
professional college level; 4500-5000 employees at
high school, college and university levels every year.
Culture
The geographical location and long history
of three ethnics of Kinh, Khmer, Chinese have
been making Vinh Long culture characterized.
There are a lot of historical and cultural relics
such as the Long Ho citadel, Cong Than Vinh
Long Shrine, Tan Giai Temple, Tan Hoa Temple,
Van Thanh Vinh Long Shrine Memorial Park of
Late Chairman of Council of Minister Pham Hung,
Memorial Park of Late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet,
Memorial Park of late Professor, Academician,
Hero of Labor Tran Dai Nghia, Cai Ngang historic
revolutionary relics etc.
